Restaurant Host/Retail Sales Associate

Beachside Hospitality is looking for talented and dual-role sales staff/host to greet, seat, and check-out customers. Responsible for ensuring that customers have an exceptional experience by providing outstanding in-person and telephone service. Provide friendly, professional, and courteous service. Ensures that all work is performed in a timely, efficient, and safe manner according to company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

·       Exhibits a professional and friendly demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees, management, and customers. Capable of working as a part of a cohesive team and maintaining a positive, proactive attitude. 

    • Greet all guests with a friendly smile, demonstrating genuine hospitality

    • Deliver exceptional service by providing knowledge of merchandise and menus

    • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for all team members and guests

·       Consistently comes to work neatly groomed, in full uniform with a visible nametag. Maintains an approachable demeanor throughout shift.

·       Provides a warm and friendly service experience to all those that call or enter the Gift Shop(s) by anticipating the needs of the guests.

·       Uses sales skills to promote items and assist each customer with their individual needs. 

·       Accurately rings in all merchandise and provides an itemized receipt to each customer. 

·       Helps conduct inventory of all merchandise as requested by management.   

·       Alerts manager of any potential theft by fellow teammates, managers and/or customers.   

·       Develops strong working relationships with all staff members to ensure communication and teamwork is at an optimum.

·       Identify ways of improving the efficiency and accuracy within the restaurant/gift shop.

·       Attempts to up-sell items to either enhance an existing purchase or recommend something the customer might not have seen while shopping. 

·       Helps management maintain stock levels for retail items and general supplies, as requested, to ensure resources are readily available, properly stored and secured.

·       Continually restocks the retail floor in a neat manner, helping to ensure a variety of sizes and options are readily available.

Education:

·          High School Diploma or GED preferred.            

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a store or restaurant. 

  • Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize work and follow up on details. 

Qualifications:

  • Flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays and varying shifts based on business demand.

  • Able and willing to work overtime as business dictates.

  • Experienced with various point-of-sale systems. Toast preferred.
